The short version
There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. We never see your card number. The only things we keep are the phrase you claimed, the name you chose to show, and the email address Stripe gives us with your payment.
What is public
Two things, both of which you type yourself and both of which appear on a page anybody can read: the phrase you claim and the name you attach to it. The name is optional — leave it blank and the ticket reads “anonymous”. The amount paid and the expiry date are shown too. Do not put anything in either field that you would not put on a billboard.
What we keep but never publish
- Your email address, as supplied by Stripe Checkout, so we can identify your payment if something goes wrong.
- A card fingerprint from Stripe. This is an opaque identifier, not a card number — it lets us see that two claims came from the same card without ever holding the card details.
- Stripe payment and session identifiers, and the amount and time.
We do not send marketing email. We do not send email at all — there is no mailing list to leave, because there is no mailing list.
What we never have
Card numbers, expiry dates and security codes are entered on Stripe's own payment page and never touch this site or its servers. We could not leak them if we tried, because we never receive them.
No cookies, no tracking
This site sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser's storage, and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images. There is no analytics package and no advertising pixel. Nothing here follows you anywhere else. Stripe sets its own cookies on its own payment pages, under its policy, not ours.
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes payments and is the source of the email and card fingerprint we store. Their privacy policy governs what they hold.
- Google Cloud hosts the site and the database, in the United States. They process data on our instructions.
Nobody else. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or hand it to anyone who will market to you.
How long we keep it
Claims are a permanent public record of who held what, so a phrase and the name on it stay on the board until the phrase is removed. Payment records are kept as long as we need them for accounting and dispute handling.
Removing your data
Write to hello@claimaphrase.com. We will remove a phrase and the name on it on request. We cannot remove the payment record itself while a dispute window is open or where we are required to keep it, and we cannot remove what Stripe holds — ask them directly for that.
Children
This site is not for anybody under 13, and payment requires a card you are entitled to use.
